Data Security

API Access

On eligible plans, an account owner can generate an API key to read their own clients', statements', and transactions' data programmatically. This key is a credential, not a separate data-sharing decision on our part: it lets the account owner (and whoever they choose to share the key with) access the same data they could already see logged in, through their own tools.

• We store the key only as a one-way hash -- the raw key is shown once, at creation, and we cannot retrieve it afterward.
• API requests are rate-limited and logged (last-used timestamp) so unusual activity can be noticed and a key revoked or regenerated at any time from Settings.
• API access is scoped to what the account already has permission to see, and is automatically cut off if the account's plan no longer includes API access.
• Keeping the key confidential is the account owner's responsibility -- see the API Access and API Keys section of our Terms of Service for the full terms.
